Alisson was in inspired form for Liverpool as they beat Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in the Champions League – and he was in a cheeky mood during an interview with CBS Sports, Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards

Cheeky Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker followed up his magnificent performance against PSG by causing Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards to walk off a live CBS Sports broadcast.

The Brazil international produced arguably the best performance of his career with nine saves as Liverpool claimed a smash and grab 1-0 win in the Parc des Princes. Alisson was at his very best to keep PSG at bay, before Harvey Elliott notched an 87th minute winner for the Premier League leaders.

Alisson’s display was the night’s hot topic and he was interviewed post-game on American TV channel CBS, by Peter Schmeichel, the Manchester United goalkeeping great.

But both Carragher and Richards couldn’t resist getting involved, and as conversation lightened up, Alisson was more than ready for the wise-cracking duo.

Richards, formerly of Manchester City, quizzed the Brazilian keeper asking: “Have you seen our show Alisson? Have you seen the clips online?” to which Alisson confirmed he had.

Richards then cheekily probed further, enquiring in Portuguese about Alisson’s preferred pundit. The response came: “Nice Portuguese by the way, I think I would have to say Thierry. Legend.

“When I was growing up, I watched a lot of Arsenal in the early 2000s when he was playing. So, it was the only team that was showing on the TV in Brazil.”

As Henry sat smiling, Carragher and Richards both feigned shock, before the pair exited the set. Off-camera, Richards’ voice could be heard chuckling: “I’ve had enough of this.”

Carragher’s feigned outrage came after he declared Liverpool’s victory in Paris as “one of the biggest robberies in football”.

“Got away with it? That’s one of the biggest robberies you will ever see in football, that,” Carragher exclaimed. “I can’t believe what I’ve just witnessed. PSG were absolutely outstanding and battered Liverpool.

“The last time Liverpool won this competition, Alisson Becker made a save against Napoli in the final group game of the group stage. Liverpool could have been eliminated had Napoli scored. That is always looked back on as a pivotal moment.

“That wasn’t a save tonight. That was arguably the greatest performance of his career, certainly in a Liverpool shirt.

“And if Liverpool go on to win this competition – which they have a good chance of, they’re a lot better than what we saw tonight – then that performance will be remembered for years to come.”
