Jeff Brazier, 45, has opened up about what it was like parenting his two children, Bobby and Freddy, without their mother, Jade Goody, who passed away in 2009

Jeff Brazier has made a touching admission about parenting his two children without his former partner, Jade Goody.

The 45-year-old TV personality shared emotional insights about raising his two sons on the Mile Fly Club podcast with Laura Hamilton, having also mentioned his Race Across the World adventure with son, Freddy, from Brazil to Chile.

During an exchange about his boy, Bobby Brazier, a former contestant on Strictly Come Dancing, Jeff expressed deep admiration for their late mum, who died of cervical cancer in 2009, reports Wales Online.

With palpable emotion, Jeff reflected: “We all know that he’s Jade’s son and we’re all incredibly proud of her for, you know, bringing him into the world.”

Acknowledging his part but stressing the maternal bond, he said: “I know I had a little bit to do with that, but let’s face it, it’s all about the mum. So yeah, that’s why that was particularly important. I was pleased that he had done that.”

Laura’s response: “Aw, that’s such a lovely thing to say; like, it’s all about the mum. It’s not all about the mum, though, is it?”

Firm in his beliefs, Jeff insisted: “It is all about the mum. It is; we could do without dads.”

He elaborated, sharing his viewpoint: “We can do without dads, but we would struggle if we haven’t got the mum. That’s my experience.”

“Yeah, dads can be unbelievable. Dads can be the…I think dads can be enough, but a mum is always enough without question. Is that that shocking a statement?”.

Jeff continued to express his belief that women “run the world” or at least they “should do”, and we’re “all much safer” when women are in charge. He argued there’s “less ego” involved and women have a “greater capacity” for making decisions that aren’t based on “self-interest”.

In the same podcast, Jeff shared some personal experiences from the difficult years following the death of his former partner, who tragically passed away at the age of 27. At the time, Bobby was five and Freddy was four, according to the Mirror.

He clarified that he wasn’t in a relationship with Jade when she died and “didn’t feel” like he had the “right to make it about me in the slightest”.

Jeff, who was then working on This Morning, went on to reveal that his mum and aunt were “incredible” when it came to supporting him as he raised his two children.

He added: “I remember just thinking this is amazing that my mum can do the school drop and I’ll always be home to pick them up, and I know a lot of kids wouldn’t see their parents that much.”

“But I knew there and then that that was a sacrifice that I was gonna have to make, in that it wasn’t about working all the hours. In fact, I I made sure that I didn’t do that.”
