Jeff Brazier appears to have taken a swipe at Jade Goody’s mum amidst reports that he is taking legal action in order to prevent his son Freddy from seeing Jackiey Buddon
Jeff Brazier has taken aim at Jackiey Budden after the son he shares with Jade Goody shared a sweet Mother’s Day tribute to both his parents. Jeff, 45, has been in a long standing feud with Jade’s mother Jackiey, since the death of the late Big Brother star, who died in 2009 following a battle with cervical cancer.
But while Jeff has raised their sons Bobby, 21, and Freddy, 20, since Jade’s death, he is said to have recently opened a legal case in a bid to prevent Jackiey from seeing his son Freddy. In recent months, Freddy has been taking to social media, documenting his stays at Jackiey’s flat in Bermondsey, south east London.
In one post, Freddy appeared to be smoking cannabis at Jackiey’s flat. She herself has never shied away from her history with drugs, having previously opened up about smoking crack cocaine. Meanwhile in 2010, a video emerged of herself taking cocaine. Today, Jackiey still smokes cannabis and drinks alcohol.
On Mother’s Day, Freddy shared a sweet tribute to his late mother as well as a ten word tribute to Jeff. He said: “Forever grateful for you and all you do for me,” alongside a red heart. Jeff has since reshared the post with his 371,000 followers writing: “Oh Fred, I’ve got you.”
He also shared a sweet picture of himself and Jade, who he split from in 2004. “Firstly to the greatest mother imaginable to be cruelly denied the privilege of seeing her children long into adulthood. Anyone taken from loved ones is sorely missed but I’d have to admit we have needed you ever since and still do to this day,” he shared.
He added: “It was too big a job for me alone but thankfully we have a strong dependable village around us. My Mum & Auntie Leslie were there for us in every way especially those early days and beyond. It’s hard to imagine coping without them.
“My wife Kate and I can be really proud of how we’ve grown and risen to the challenges. She’s the first person i confide in when i need to figure something out or vent and her support has been a constant throughout.”
Jeff continued: “The Godmum’s, Jades friends, have been a constant source of time, love and comfort always checking in, going above and beyond. Happy Mother’s Day to Kate’s Mum Debbie and Kate’s Auntie Lisa. They have been amazing with Bob & Fred but I’m particularly grateful for our memories of Safari & how they kindly welcomed us in to their Christmas plans for the last 11 years making a difficult time feel special.”
Jeff went on to thank his female friends before admitting parenting was “a team game,” as he thanked the “hero’s” who have supported him. He failed to acknowledge Jade’s mother, Jackiey.
In their legal battle, Jeff alleges that Freddy’s relationship with Jackiey is “a relationship that has been incredibly detrimental to his wellbeing.” Last week, Jackiey told the Daily Mail that the ongoing battle wasn’t fair.
She told the publication: “This is not fair. I’ve tried so hard with Jeff over the years, to keep the peace and to keep the family together and the boys close – I even send him a Christmas present every year, but he doesn’t appreciate it. He probably throws them in the bin.”
In a blistering attack, she continued: “All these years, I’ve been the closest thing to their mum,” adding that her home had been a “safe” place for her grandchildren. A source once close to Jade recently told the Mirror they can see where the boys’ protective dad is coming from. The insider said: “I can see where Jeff is coming from with this legal action. Jeff’s looking out for Freddy’s best interests.
“Freddy needs support from the right people, as he struggles – he lost his mum at 4 years old, so anyone would struggle with that. And maybe Jackiey isn’t the right person to do that if she’s in a vulnerable position herself.”
