Jennifer Lopez has paid tribute to her late friend Jesus Guerrero following the news that the hairstylist – who worked with celebrity clients like Kylie Jenner – has passed away

Singer Jennifer Lopez has paid tribute to her late friend Jesus Guerrero following the news of his death.

It was announced over the weekend that the hairstylist – who had worked with a host of celebrity clients – had passed away, aged 34. The news has prompted tributes, including from people who he had worked with, like Kylie Jenner.

Jennifer, 55, has since shared her own tribute, with her writing in a post on X today that she is “still in shock”. She described her late pal as “kind and loving,” and suggested in the message that the “light” he has left will “live on forever”.

Alongside a photo of him, she wrote: “Jesus. It’s no surprise your mother gave you the name Jesus. You were gentle and kind and loving, quiet and unassuming, but so powerful, and your presence was felt the minute you walked into any room. You never demanded the spotlight. You never needed to make a sound to be recognized, your heart and your talent did that as effortlessly as you artistry did. I’ve been having trouble putting the words together the last few days.”

She continued: “The truth is I’m still in shock that such a beautiful young life has come to an end. It seems senseless and unfair. I know your family is brokenhearted as am I and everyone else who knew you.” She added: “Your spirit moved on to the next phase beyond this life but I know wherever you are there is beauty and light. And the beauty and light you left here will live on forever. Rest in peace, sweet angel…”

The post has been met with condolences on the platform, with fans sharing supportive messaged for Jennifer. One person commented: “Beautiful words Jen. May he rest in peace, he seemed such a beautiful light! Thinking of you all at such a difficult time.” Another wrote: “I am so sorry Jen!! Rest in peace.”

Jennifer is the latest celebrity to have paid tribute to Jesus. The Kardashians star Kylie, 27, reflected on the loss herself recently in a statement shared with fans on Instagram. She too included a photo of her late friend in the post. She described Jesus as “more” than a friend, adding: “He was a light in my life, a source of laughter, comfort, love, and unwavering support.”

She also wrote in part of her tribute post: “The pain of losing you is just unbearable and I don’t know how to move forward without you but I know great grief is born only of great love. And I loved you so much. You were the best person, with a talent that was unmatched. A true artist. You inspired so many, and you always will.”
