Joanie Clothing is adored by fashion fans for selling gorgeous garments that are sure to make you stand out from the crowd. The retailer has recently launched a variety of vibrant new dresses, and we’ve found one that would be perfect for a spring wedding guest.
The Golden Slumbers Flared Sleeve Ruffle Neck Wrap Dress is part of Joanie Clothing’s collaboration with British textile and fashion designer Celia Birtwell. She’s known for her distinctive bold, romantic and feminine designs influenced by Picasso, Matisse and the classical world.
The frock is a twin print maxi dress combining a vibrant graphic pattern with a cute sunflower ditsy floral print. It’s made from sheer crinkle chiffon layers over a simple camisole lining and includes a removable slip dress.

The dress has statement flared sleeves and a pretty ruffled V-neckline. It has an adjustable tie waist that lets you accentuate your waist if desired, providing a flattering silhouette.
The garment is available in sizes eight to 26 and costs £129. Celia Birtwell explained: “Golden Slumbers is one of my most well-known classic designs that I have loved using over the years. I have used it in many different colour combinations, but I really like the new mustard background being used here to give it a great sense of drama. I have always enjoyed mixing prints together in various ways.”
As the Golden Slumbers Flared Sleeve Ruffle Neck Wrap Dress is new, only two Joanie Clothing customers have reviewed the garment so far, with both awarding it five stars. One delighted buyer commented: “Beautiful. Another 1970s-inspired jewel that is really a cut above most other retro reproductions.
“It is high end in design, feel and fit, and a lot of care clearly went into designing the garment that would bring more to the game than just a vintage-inspired print. I really hope to see more dresses like this from Joanie.”
The second glowing review reads: “When I first saw this dress on the site I was immediately smitten. I ordered both US18/US20 as I’m in between sizes. Both fit well but the 18 looks tailor made. I’m 5’5” and the shoulder seams, sleeves and overall length are perfection.
“The dress stays put over my ample (40D) chest without gapping, needing constant readjusting or needing constrictive under garments, making this overall a very comfortable wear. The slip adds a small amount of structure, but the dress also drapes beautifully without it. This is undoubtedly the single most fabulous and well made article of clothing I own. I have never felt so beautiful. It’s giving Bond girl vibes.”
They did, however, note a slight downside, as they continued: “Return shipping is a bit costly, but to have discovered my size, this brand and this dress, is worth every cent. This is the new benchmark for my wardrobe; if it doesn’t make me feel this incredible, it doesn’t belong on my body.”
