Former TOWIE star Joey Essex has revealed a dramatic body transformation as he prepares to make his long-delayed boxing debut against influencer NUMEIRO at Misfits 22
Joey Essex is stepping into the spotlight with a dramatic new look ahead of his first big boxing match.
The former TOWIE star and Love Island contestant, 35, has undergone a major body transformation, bulking up with serious muscle ahead of his official boxing debut this weekend.
Known for his playful on-screen persona and reality TV fame, Joey has surprised fans by revealing a much more physical side. Now with his visibly bulging muscles and gym-honed physique, he’s set to fight Portuguese influencer NUMEIRO at Misfits 22 on August 30, held at Manchester’s AO Arena.
This marks a significant shift for Joey, who was originally due to appear on a Misfits card in Qatar last year before plans fell through. Despite his celebrity roots, he’s no stranger to the sport as his uncle is Tony Simms, a respected boxing trainer best known for working with British fighter Conor Benn.
The fight is expected to begin around 7pm UK time, though the full event kicks off from 5pm.
Speaking ahead of his debut, Joey said: “I cannot wait. I honestly cannot wait. I cannot even tell you how excited I am to get in that ring on August 30. I am going to be in my element. It has been a long time coming and there has been negotiations that we could not meet and timings.
“I am a busy man, I have got TV shows coming at me left, right and centre. I also need to juggle that with this. This is something I am very passionate about and want to do. That is why we are doing it now. I have got TV shows I can do. But, to be honest this is paying me a lot more and this is something I am very passionate about and I am very excited about it.”
