Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are said to have already made some key decisions about their upcoming wedding, with the singer reportedly keen for her husband-to-be to ‘take the lead’
Newly engaged Taylor Swift is said to want her husband-to-be to “take the lead” when it comes to their wedding as details about their big day are leaked.
The Shake It Off hitmaker and Travis Kelce, both 35, are reportedly said to have already finalised some key details for planning their nuptials.
“It will just be close friends and family,” a source close to the happy couple reveals when discussing Taylor and Travis will tie the knot after announcing their engagement on Tuesday night.

Taylor and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end shared photos from the proposal which showed them embracing in a garden filled with pink and white flowers. The two, who have been dating since 2023, captioned the post: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
The love birds have only just shared their happy news but are already hard at work making sure their union becomes “the wedding of the century”.
Despite both the bride and groom having a slew of showbiz pals, an insider claims the guest list will “just be close friends and family” and a traditional affair.
“Based on what he’s told me, she would want the whole thing to be traditional, too. She wants him to take the lead,” a source close to Travis told the Mail when discussing the couple’s upcoming wedding.
Friends of the couple said to have not been surprised by Taylor and Travis’ engagement reveal. “Travis literally always said she’s the girl he’s going to marry,’ our insider said. ‘[He has] been saying that for a long time, really since the beginning,” they add to the publication.
Travis’ mother has publicly shown her support for her son and future daughter-in-law amid the engagement buzz still sweeping the world.
Donna Kelce, 72, has marked the occasion by changing her Facebook cover photo to side-by-side childhood pictures of Travis and Taylor.
Taylor’s post, which included photos of Travis on one knee among flowers, went viral in seconds. It followed months of speculation about the couple, who first went public in September 2023 when Taylor appeared with Donna in a private box at a Chiefs game.
Travis’ father, Ed Kelce, 73, also spoke about the engagement in an interview with News 5 Cleveland. Asked by reporter John Kosich whether he would be paying for the rehearsal dinner, Ed said: “I think he’ll help me out on that one.”
Ed added Travis proposed to Taylor almost two weeks before it was announced at his home in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
He said: “He got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, ‘Let’s go out and have a glass of wine’… they got out there, and that’s when he asked her, and it was beautiful. They started FaceTiming me and their mother and her folks to make sure everybody knew. So, to see them together is great.”
Ed also revealed his advice to his son ahead of the proposal. He said: “I told him repeatedly, you could do it on the side of the road, do it any place that makes it a special event… when you get down on one knee and ask her to marry you.”
