Celebrity Big Brother finalists JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes reunited recently ahead of her birthday and she paid tribute to him while performing at a festival in Mexico on the weekend
Fans are convinced that singer JoJo Siwa has confirmed a romance with her former Celebrity Big Brother co-star Chris Hughes. It comes after they spent time together in the US and Mexico ahead of her birthday this week.
JoJo, now 22, and Chris, 32, grew close on the ITV show last month. Since leaving the Big Brother house in the UK, they have faced questions over their relationship. JoJo said just weeks ago that it’s “platonic” between them, whilst Chris teased that they have a “soulmate friendship”.
The former Dance Moms star – who split from her partner Kath Ebbs at a wrap party for Celebrity Big Brother hours after the final – later paid tribute to Chris. More recently, they reunited when Love Island finalist Chris flew out to see her this month.
There’s now speculation that JoJo confirmed a romantic relationship with Chris whilst performing at Tecate Emblema in Mexico on Saturday. Videos from her set at the festival in Mexico City have been shared on social media.
It includes footage of her covering the song Bette Davis Eyes, released by Kim Carnes in 1981. JoJo seemed to pay tribute to Chris in her performance by changing lyrics towards the end of the song to mention the reality TV star’s name.
The original lyrics are: “All the boys think she’s a spy, she’s got Bette Davis’ eyes.” JoJo however appeared to sing: “All the boys think she’s a spy, she likes Chris Hughes’ eyes.”
Footage of the performance, shared by fans, has attracted attention on platforms like TikTok. One fan posted a clip of the moment involving the lyric change on Instagram and JoJo then shared it on her Story yesterday.
Fans speculated about the relationship in the comments section of the original post, with some suggesting that it confirmed a romance between JoJo and Chris. One person reacted to the clip on Instagram: “They are together.”
Another said: “THEY HAD LAUNCHED SO HARD HELP ME.” Someone responded: “Absolutely floored me.” A fourth person wrote: “Oh my god. It really is official. I cannot breathe.” Another fan said: “Omg awww I’m so happy for the both of them.”
Someone reacted: “HARD LAUNCH, I cannot cope with this, just the cutest.” Sharing their thoughts, one fan wrote in the comments section: “Chris and JoJo are awesome together and it’s amazing and heartwarming to see.”
JoJo and Chris have both shared photos from their recent reunion with their respective followers on the platform. Chris posted a series of photos from their time together, which coincided with JoJo’s 22nd birthday on Monday.
One photo showed them cuddled up on a sofa together, whilst another appeared to have been taken on a night out. Alongside the photos, Chris wrote in the caption of his post: “The previous 7 days have been the prettiest.”
