Josie Gibson received a gift from Jordan North while live on air on Capital FM, and Jordan couldn’t apologise enough after she reacted poorly to the present

Josie Gibson pulls prank on Capital’s Jordan North

Josie Gibson, 39, left her Capital FM co-host Jordan North, 34, gasping for words after a Christmas prank went a bit too well.

On Monday morning’s show, I’m a Celebrity star Jordan presented Josie with a gift. “‘To Josie, Love Jordan.’ Awww,” Josie said as she read the label, with Jordan instructing: “I think you should wear my present on Christmas Day.”

Josie then opened the gift to reveal a Christmas pudding costume, and immediately looked affronted. “Mate, you know… I did… Tom, I told you I didn’t want to talk about this. I’ve told you I didn’t want to talk about it,” she said, seemingly enraged.

“I thought it would be funny, because it’s the Christmas pudding story,” a voice said from off-camera. Jodie responded: “You thought it would be funny? I nearly died. This is not… This isn’t really funny. Can we drop this bit?”

“Sorry,” Jordan said as Josie complained, “This is really bad.” Jordan again exclaimed, “Oh, sorry! I didn’t know!” Josie then started tearing up, and repeated: “This is really bad.” Jordan fell over himself to apologise as Josie seemed to cry, but she quickly stormed out of the studio and shouted: “Go south, Jordan North!”

Jordan looked around and kept apologising despite Josie’s absence, asking others in the room if they knew what was going on. Soon, however, a voice came back into the studio. “Only kidding!” Josie said as she sat back opposite Jordan with a big grin on her face.

Josie and the others kept laughing, but it seemed Jordan had been given the shock of his life when he thought he’d made her cry with his present. “I feel sick,” he admitted. “Oh my God, Josie! I’m actually dripping with sweat. What the hell! Oh my God!”

While Josie was happy to play a festive prank, she exclusively revealed to the Mirror that she takes Christmas very seriously since the birth of her son Reg in 2018. She shared that she dressed Reg in a suit to visit Santa Claus each year, and it has become her favourite tradition of the holiday season. “I’m all about the magic, and keeping the magic alive,” she admitted. “Reg is the best version of himself the whole way through December because Father Christmas calls us and his elves call us and I always make him go and see Father Christmas in a suit.”

She added: “I love seeing Reg’s face when he comes down on Christmas morning. You know when they go, ‘He’s been!’ That is everything for me. That’s why I do everything, to celebrate that moment.”

Josie revealed that she’ll be hosting Christmas this year, and will have plenty of food laid out so people can pop in and out while socialising. However, she made it clear that she’s not missing having a significant other over the festive period.

“Reg is my biggest distraction,” says explained. “And people… your connections and relationships are so important. They’re the things that are going to stay with you for ever. What is meant to be on your path, will be on your path. You could spend all day worrying, but you’re not going to get anywhere.”

“It wouldn’t be fair on them,” she says on the subject of partners. “My time is split between my career and my son, where would anyone fit in?”
