CBS Sports presenter Kate Scott suffered a wardrobe malfunction scare during their live Champions League broadcast on Wednesday night. The 44-year-old was in the studio with a host of former footballers, including Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards.

Another who entered the scene was ex-Fulham and Tottenham midfielder Clint Dempsey, with the United States native providing analysis following another dramatic night of action in Europe. But as Dempsey greeted the studio, an awkward-looking moment occurred involving Scott.

The glamorous TV host stretched across the table to fist pump Dempsey before noticing that her top split in the process. Scott then attempted to fix the situation as she sat back and put her hand over the hole.

After glancing at the camera, Scott admitted that she had split her dress to the others in the studio. Scott said: “I just broke my top,” while Henry, Carragher and Richards laughed at the unfortunate incident.

Henry said: “Really?” before Richards joked: “Now you know how it feels. Give us a stretch, Kate!”

Despite this, Scott managed to keep her composure and update fans on CBS’ plans for the rest of the evening. She revealed that the panel were going to talk about Italian football with Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero.

The incident went viral, with one fan noticing the issue and praising Scott, saying: “Kate Scott with the cat-like reflexes to save her top.” Meanwhile, another hailed Scott’s professionalism amid the unfortunate mishap, admitting: “Kate might be the best in the business.”

Richards is no stranger to suffering a wardrobe malfunction himself. He was covering Barcelona’s trip to Benfica in January when a late winner from the La Liga side prompted him to jump up and pop a button on his suit.

But that wasn’t the most unfortunate rip in clothing for Richards, with his biggest howler coming in October 2023 when he tried to replicate Kylian Mbappe’s celebration, but it ended in him tearing his crotch instead.

Former Manchester City title-winner Richards therefore didn’t hesitate to bring up the fact he has endured a number of unfortunate moments while presenting live on air for CBS Sports over the years.
