Laura Woods has made her Arsenal affection very clear in the past but it appears that neither husband-to-be Adam Collard or baby Leo will be following in her footsteps

Laura Woods had an awful evening as her beloved Arsenal were booted out of the League Cup while her baby sported a Newcastle onesie.

The Gunners saw their run in the competition ended in brutal fashion on Wednesday evening at St James’ Park. Having fallen to a 2-0 defeat in the first leg, Newcastle compounded Arsenal’s misery with another success, eventually winning 4-0 on aggregate – the goals coming from Jacob Murphy and Anthony Gordon.

And while the defeat would have been bad enough, Woods was given a brutal reminder by young son Leo, who was sporting Newcastle pyjamas throughout the evening.

With his onesie reading ‘Toon Army’, Woods reacted by writing: “Genuinely not sure what’s worse, the goal or the Xmas pyjamas.”

It is not the first time that little Leo has been pictured showing some early loyalty for Eddie Howe’s men. Woods’ fiance Adam Collard also shared a picture of their young son with another Newcastle onesie on reading: ‘Mini Magpie’.

He captured the picture: “If you aren’t first you’re last… @laurawoodsy,” with Woods reposting the image and adding the comment: “Fuming.”

And while Leo appears to be developing early support for the Geordies, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has already attempted to sway him to becoming a Gooner. Before Christmas, the Spaniard gave Woods a gift including an Arsenal onesie covered in the club’s iconic cannon, a present she labelled as “too cute”.

Woods, 37, and Arteta shared a brief chat before the coach handed over the gift. The former shared a video of the exchange on social media, captioning it “my club,” before writing “this was amazing, thank you”.

And just three days ago, she shared an image of Leo wearing a very similar Arsenal-themed outfit. So it appears that his loyalties might not be decided yet after all.

Woods and Collard initially went public with their romance in October 2023, with the pair then getting engaged in September last year. Her pregnancy with Leo was announced in July.

Announcing the pair’s engagement, Woods wrote on social media: “And just like that… You make me happy @adamcollard. Thank you @carbisbayestate – the place we fell in love and now the place we got engaged, you made it so special. What a summer x.”
