Kate Cassidy’s recent social media post shared a sweet hidden tribute to her late partner Liam Payne months on from his tragic death in Argentina
The partner of Liam Payne has shared a hidden tribute to the former One Direction star months after his death.
Liam died in Argentina in October last year at the age of 31 after falling from a third floor balcony at the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires. His death stunned the world and came just days after his girlfriend Kate Cassidy had left him in the country to return back to the United States. He died after suffering multiple traumas leading to an “internal and external haemorrhage”.
Now, as she continues to grieve her singer partner, Kate has seemingly shared a hidden tribute to her man on social media. Taking to Instagram, Kate recently uploaded footage of herself cuddling her dog Nala. She had adopted the pooch with Liam over the summer, just months before his tragic fall.
Now, a relationship psychologist has shared what they see as a hidden message in Kate’s recent TikTok video. The clip was posted last month and showed the 25-year-old sitting on her front doorstep. She sweetly embraced her pet while Coldplay’s Sparks could be heard playing in the background. She captioned the upload: “From foster to forever.”
Speaking to The Sun, expert Jo Hemmings said the post was Kate’s way of acknowledging her grief online without actually mentioning the singer. Analysing the clip, she said: “It’s a way of showing her grief, because Nala has become even more important since Liam’s death – like pets do for many people. It’s a really sweet way of acknowledging Liam without doing it in an explicit way.”
Earlier this month, Kate took part in her first interview since Liam’s passing. She burst into tears as she told The Sun about her decision to return to Florida days before his death. She said: “I had a responsibility, we had a responsibility. We had our dog and obviously I never, ever thought this event would occur. It was a tragic accident and no, I never did think (he might die young). But, you know, we did have our own separate lives — this wasn’t the first time we have travelled separately.”
She explained how, since his death, she has repeatedly been phoning Liam’s old phone number just to hear his voicemail greeting. She also revealed she had vacated the property that they once rented in Florida and has returned to her hometown, New Jersey. Although she used to fall asleep listening to his music, she confessed she can no longer do this as she struggles to listen to his tunes.
