Billi Mucklow’s ex has been enjoying a romantic getaway in the upmarket ski resort of Megieve, as his new girlfriend shared a string of loved-up snaps of the pair
Lou Teasdale took to Instagram on Monday January 6 to mark her boyfriend Andy Carroll’s birthday, with a series of loved-up snaps on holiday together. The celeb make-up artist, 40, flew off to France with her new man to celebrate his 36th birthday, and the happy post is the first time she has marked the footballer’s birthday, after they got together following his split from TOWIE star Billi Mucklow.
The couple are enjoying a romantic getaway in Megève, Mont Blanc, where Lou wrote alongside the pics: “Happy birthday to my favourite person I ever met.” In one, taken in a photo booth, Lou and ex-England, Newcastle and Liverpool striker Andy were beaming with happiness, while in another Andy had his arm wrapped around Lou, and in a third, they shared a mirror selfie where he was kissing her head.
They followed on from pics Andy posted of their picturesque mountain retreat, including the snow-capped mountains outside their luxury lodge and the pair enjoying a glass of wine with a view.
The couple only went Instagram official over the Christmas holidays, following Andy’s shock split from wife Billi. The former couple, who began their relationship in 2014, got engaged that same year – and tied the knot in June 2022. They share three children – Arlo, nine, Wolf, six, and Marvel Mae, four, while Andy also has two children, aged 15, and 14, from a previous relationship.
In a statement at the time, Andy, who currently plays for French team FC Girondins de Bordeaux, said: “Billi and I have privately separated earlier this year and we are under way with our divorce proceedings. It has been a hard few months for our family and we continue to move forward amicably for our children.”
But the sporting star has not been shy about his feelings for new love Lou, and said of his new romance: “I’ve seen a different world since I’ve been with Lou. This Christmas, like she does every Christmas, she will go with her daughter to look after the isolated elderly.” He added to The Times: “She’s a volunteer for Choose Love and a campaigner for LGBTQ+. She says to me, ‘Why would you hate anyone?’ That’s someone I need in my life.”
Andy’s two-year marriage to Billi was a turbulent one, and it seemed their big day might never happen, after a now infamous stag do scandal in which pictures emerged where Andy was seen passed out in bed with two women in Dubai. One of the girls, Taylor Jane Wilkey, was also seen posing in a bathroom wearing the footballer’s personalised dressing gown.
As a result of the photos emerging on social media, a furious Billi took off her £200,000 engagement ring and left their shared Essex home – but she eventually forgave Andy after barmaid Taylor revealed ‘nothing sexual’ happened that night. In August 2023, Andy joined French second division club Amiens, signing for his current side Bordeaux a year later – but perhaps tellingly, he went alone, with Billi deciding to stay in their Essex home with the kids.
