Exclusive:

Former Made In Chelsea star Louise Thompson has opened up on how she’s turning her home into a winter wonderland and has shared the scent that’s “better than warm bread”

Made In Chelsea star Louise Thompson, 34, will be fully embracing the winter months, wrapping up in oversized jumpers, walking around her home in Ugg slippers and even dressing her adorable dog Koji in luxe cashmere knits. In an exclusive chat with us, the mum-of-one shares her Christmas plans and how she’s transforming her home into her very own winter wonderland.

The main space

“I’ve already ordered an advent calendar – one that lights up with little drawers in it, which will be special for my son Leo this year. “We’re redoing our living room at the moment, so that feels like a bit of a barren space right now. It’s our room with a fire and perfect for Christmas and movie-watching but, sadly, I don’t think it’s going to be ready in time. “Still, I’ve ordered fairy lights and we’re going to get a monster tree, pop it in there and make it a Christmas room.”

Getting cosy

“These WAG&WOOL dog jumpers are my favourite thing ever. I was so impressed with the quality when they arrived – I love this independent brand. “We’re in hibernation mode now, so we can shamelessly walk around in Ugg slippers, tracksuits and oversized jumpers. I’ve got some beautiful sheepskin-lined slippers and a fine wool snood that’s the best thing if you’ve had a late night or have an early start.” For a similar look, we’re loving these Accessorize Fairisle Boots (£30 from Very) that are effortlessly chic.

Scent-Sational

“I would honestly recommend everybody buys this Baked Cookies candle (£18 from Not On The High Street). It’s the best thing I’ve ever smelled – even better than warm bread in the supermarket. “I work a lot with my therapist on the senses and sensory stimulation, and a really strong smell should attach itself to the emotional part of your brain and bring on good memories.”

It’s all in the details

“We always go to Peter Jones, just because it’s quite close, and check out their amazing Christmas decorations. I’ll also be checking out Not On The High Street because I imagine they’ll have loads of really cute, unique baubles and decor. “We haven’t thought about colour schemes. Ryan [Libbey, Louise’s fiancé] is really fussy, so he only lets us go with really traditional colours, whereas I’d like to go crazy and throw loads of multicoloured rainbow stuff in there. I’d probably have a light-up reindeer outside my house too if I could.”

If you’re wanting a similar colourful and playful vibe, this Joyful Outdoor Light Up Dog (£22 from Matalan) is sure to bring the festive cheer while this Rainbow Bell Star Tree Topper (£20 from John Lewis) will add plenty of colour.
