Louise Thompson has shared her ‘yummy’ must-have manicure products that are perfect for creating a luxury self care moment at home including a hand scrub she ‘needs in her life’

If one of your New Year’s resolutions was to indulge in a little more self care at home (or just to cut down on your nail appointment bills), Louise Thompson has shared the two manicure products she “needs in her life”. Although Louise was treated to the two luxury products during her professional manicure, both are available to shop so you can add a little bit of luxury to your at-home pamper

First up was the Jo Malone Vitamin E Body Treatment Scrub , which Louise said: “I need one of these scrub tubs in my life. Why have I never been introduced to this sorcery before?” Her manicure was then finished off with the Chanel L’huile Camélia Hydrating and Fortifying Oil which the former Made in Chelsea star called “yummy”.

The Jo Malone scrub is the pricier of the two purchases, coming in at £86. However, it’s a gigantic tub, weighing 600g, and only needs to be used twice a week, so it should last you a long time. As well as being a great investment, the scrub is also fantastic for your skin, helping to retexturise and remove environmental pollutants as well as removing dry skin.

It’s made with non-abrasive sugar particles which gently exfoliate, leaving your skin looking younger and glowing. Although Louise’s manicurist used it to soften and smooth her hands, the Jo Malone scrub can be used all over your body, so you can even add it to your regular bodycare routine.

One Jo Malone shopper wrote: “A little bit goes a long way and ultra moisturizing!” whilst another agreed: “I really like the idea of this product. The smell is wonderful and the scrub is just enough and melts away. What I am a little unsure of is the slightly greasy coating it leaves on my skin. That said I continue to use it and enjoy the pampering elements it brings!”

Once Louise’s skin was properly scrubbed and softened, her manicurist then used the Chanel L’huile Camélia Hydrating and Fortifying Oil, £29, to give her cuticles and nails some extra hydration. Moisturising around your nails is the key to keeping them strong and preventing breakages, and the Chanel nail treatment is enriched with camellia oil which helps repair and perfect your nails and the skin around them.

The Chanel nail treatment has a gel-like texture which transforms into an oil during use, and you only need to use one drop on each nail. The bottle has a bevelled applicator on the end, too, which you can use to push back your cuticles or to ensure a precise application.

Looks like we’ll be taking our home manicures up a notch this year!
