While the Love Island stars look as if they’re living it up in the villa, season 11 star Ciaran Davies dished behind-the-scenes dirt on what meal times are like on the show
Bombshell Briefing, Love Island All Stars 2025
Love Island star Ciaran Davies has revealed the reason why he started cooking his own food while in the villa – as the catering left him stunned.
Ciaran starred in season 11, where he was coupled up with Nicole Samuel and the pair were the runners up in the show and while there were cameras on them 24/7, viewers were only shown a snippet of their days – so it’s clear there were big chunks of the day missed out, including their meal times.
Speaking exclusively on the Daily Mirror’s Bombshell Briefing podcast, the Welsh star opened up about some of the bizarre behind the scenes secrets, including the strange meals the Islanders were served.
The self-confessed foodie said the catering left him “shocked” and revealed they would be given meals such as Chicken Korma or roast dinners for breakfast. Ciaran said: “I’m very passionate about my food but it wasn’t nice waking up and half an hour later having a Chicken Korma.”
While it’s a far cry from the usual eggs and bacon or a bowl of cereal, at least the Islanders had a full stomach before spending their days looking for love. He went on to explain: “So when you wake up, your breakfast isn’t the usual cereal but when it comes out, sometimes you were getting a Sunday roast half hour after waking up,” and added: “It always changes as well. They would try and mix it up a bit, that’s the catering.”
Ciaran then confessed while he was eating his unusual breakfasts, he added: “I really didn’t know what to do with myself.” He said: “It came to a point where me and Ayo [Odukoya] started cooking our own food at the end.” The star then recalled the time they were served a Banana curry, but said it was “one of the nicest tasting” meals they had.
“That was probably the strangest thing. When they said there would be catering through the day and downtime with food I thought it would just be normal food but we were having banana curry.”
