A TikTok video shows how you can clean away the grime in your kitchen sink and leave it sparking using three items that you are likely to already have in your home
People have been shown a cleaning hack that will leave your sink sparkling using three common kitchen items.
We have all had to scrub away to get rid of grime at the kitchen sink but a video demonstrates how easy it can be using a combination of baking soda and dish soap.
Tanya Mukendi who shares content under @tanyahomeinspo is famed for her household tips and tricks, and boasts more than 768,000 TikTok followers.
And nearly 20,000 people have ‘liked’ her tip on how to clean the kitchen sink. She starts off the video by saying: “This is without doubt the best hack you will see today.”
Then in captions she writes: “Baking soda, dish soap, mix it into a paste, brush paste all over sink, scrub with a lemon before.” In the clip she can be seen pouring the baking soda into a bowl and then adds a tablespoon of washing up liquid to it. This is then mixed together and Tanya takes a brush which she uses to spread the mixture over the sink.
And as a final touch she rubs half a lemon over the metallic surface and then when washed down it leaves you with a sparkling surface. Many TikTok users have also commented on the hack and some have offered suggestions of their own. “Thanks Tanya what a great tip,” said one, while another said: “I have been doing that for years…and it’s great.”
A further wrote stated: “This is soooo what my sink and drainers need, been trying all sorts, nothing works like this thanks.” Other people said that it was easier just to use regular cleaning products for the job but Tanya replied: “Lol this has left my sink clean for three days so far. No products last that long.”
Tanya has also shared a video on how to get rid of stubborn grease by putting washing up liquid into an ice cube tray and putting it into the freezer. Upon removing one, she demonstrates how she tackles greasy food stains on her grill. “It just slides off,” she claims, as she scrubs it against the metal, showcasing the gleaming silver beneath.
