Isabela Lima and Prazeres Jr, who got married in 2022, ditched monogamy and have since shared their journey into polyamory – but some people are less than impressed

Isabela Lima, a 25-year-old influencer with a following of 31,800 on Instagram, and her partner, Prazeres Jr, who is a decade older than her, have spoken about the hurdles they encounter due to their relationship.

Initially, the couple had planned to maintain a monogamous relationship but later decided to embrace “free love” as a way to break free from societal norms. However, not everyone has been accepting of their unconventional relationship.

They are frequently subjected to online trolling, with people warning them that they will “go to hell”, and even friends have stopped inviting them to weddings, fearing their lifestyle might influence others.

“We are constantly victims of ‘polyphobia’,” Isabela revealed to NeedToKnow. She added that judgemental comments have become a part of their everyday life, with phrases like “you’re going straight to hell” being common.

She added: “They believe our lifestyle will ‘contaminate’ their relationships.”

The couple, who tied the knot in 2022, recently wanted to commemorate their love with a photoshoot but had to find a new photographer after their initial choice backed out due to their polyamorous lifestyle.

“We found a photographer on social media”, Isabela shared. “He initially expressed interest in doing the shoot but [later] refused the job when he discovered through social media that we promote free love.”

“I received a message saying, ‘I don’t support promiscuous marriages, I am a servant of God and I will not take your photos’. It was shocking.”

The couple, hailing from Sao Paulo, Brazil, strive to brush off the online trolling. She further stated: “But Prazeres Jr and I know where we stand and we are happy.”

“We believe free love is a way to connect more deeply with ourselves and with others.” Prazeres Jr chimed in: “Free love freed us from chains and can free you too.”

“It’s not just about sexual freedom but spiritual freedom. We want people to discover the transformative power of connecting with love in a more open and genuine.”

In October, it was reported that a previously monogamous woman who was brought up as a conservative Christian was now pansexual with two partners and was also dating others.

Tanya revealed that she was solo polyamorous and pansexual but also enjoyed friends-with-benefits relationships. The occupational therapist told Metro that she had “amazingly beautiful partners”.

She also said that the relationships had trust and understanding, but she says she has been judged, although she revealed that this doesn’t bother her.

“I think on the outside, it’s easy to think that loving more than one person is only ‘half love’; but that comes from how we were raised in a capitalist society. ‘There is not enough for everyone’, ‘We cannot share’, ‘If you have something, it means there is less for me – however, this is just simply not the case!” She explained.
