A man in his 60s was allegedly raped outside a church in London. Police arrested a 32-year-old male at the scene in connection with the incident.

Police were called to reports of a sexual assault outside St John’s Church on Station Road, Harrow, at around 12.50am on Wednesday. Bruke Desalagne, 32, of no fixed address, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of sexual assault and rape. Deslagne was charged with rape on Wednesday, July 23, and was due to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court this morning. Police said the victim is being supported by specialist officers, MyLondon reports.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police Service said: “Bruke Desalagne, 32, of no fixed address has been charged with rape on Wednesday, July 23. He was set to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court this morning (Thursday, July 24).

“Officers were called at 00:49hrs on Wednesday, 23 July to reports of a sexual assault on Station Road, Harrow. The victim, a man in his 60s, is being supported by specialist officers.

“Mr Desalagne was arrested at the scene on suspicion of sexual assault and charged as above.”
