A video purportedly from the scene is now circulating on social media, and appears to show men with weapons surrounding two vehicles on Stockport Road in Hattersely, Manchester

Police were scrambled and had to close off a road in Manchester this afternoon following a “road rage incident” between two men.

Emergency services raced to the scene outside a Tesco Extra earlier this afternoon, with Greater Manchester Police forced to cordon Stockport Road in Hattersley.

Police were called to the scene shortly before 1pm, but, now hours later, emergency personnel remain in the area. The road cordon remains in place, and is blocked off to all vehicles and pedestrians at the junction of Underwood Road and Ashworth Lane.

Video footage now circulating on social media and seen by the Manchester Evening News reportedly shows the incident, and captures two vehicles stopped on the middle of the road.

The publication adds that a group of people can be seen standing at the central reservation while armed with weapons following what appeared to be a road rage incident.

Among the group is one man holding what appears to be a large stick.
