Love is bubbling toward scorching levels of heat for Love Island’s Maura Higgins and TOWIE star Pete Wicks as they are appear inseparable and go to major A-List haunts together
Maura Higgins and her Strictly star boyfriend Pete Wicks have been enjoying the best of British luxury with celeb restaurant visit and a staycation at a luxury country retreat.
The 34-year-old former Love Island contestant and The Only Way Is Essex icon Pete, 36, appear to be falling for each other hard after first sparking rumours of a romance in August. Their romance survived near immediate challenges – as rumours raged that Pete had grown close to his Strictly Come Dancing professional partner Jowita Przystał, 30, sparking fears the fabled Strictly Curse could tear him away from Maura.
And to make matters more complicated, Maura disappeared Down Under for almost a month when she participated in ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! which saw her slumming it in the jungle alongside a string of fellow stars. But now the couple appear to be closer than ever – and far from slumming it, they have been immersing themselves in luxury and extravagance.
It has been reported that the duo have been glamming up a storm after jetting back to the UK after spending the Christmas period together over in Maura’s native Ireland – where they stayed at the four star Glasson Lakehouse Spa & Golf Club in Glasson, County Westmeath. After touching back down in England, the couple decamped to Pete’s native Essex where they enjoyed a slap up meal at reality star haunt Sheesh. And then they trundled over to the Cotswolds to check into A-List country escape, Soho Farm House – which attracts huge stars like David and Victoria Beckham and Meghan Markle.
Sharing news of her luxury stay, Maura shared a video of a crackling fire on her social media platforms, adding a caption stating: “Checked into the Farm” and adding a soundtrack of Nat King Cole’s Let’s Fall In Love – and according to The Sun she was in the company of Pete for all of her extravagant outings. Further snaps shared on her Instagram Stories showed her in bed watching The Grinch with a huge chandelier hanging above her bed.
And another snap showed the luxury confines of her accommodation with a huge copper bath positioned beside huge glass doors and opulent furniture positioned on hard wooden floors. During a recent appearance on ITV’s This Morning, Maura confessed she slipped up during her time in the I’m A Celebrity camp as she pined for Pete when she was trying to keep their fledgling relationship a secret.
She told host Alison Hammond: “You do forget about the cameras, and I do like to keep things private. But let’s be real, I said it. I can’t remember saying it, but I said the words ‘I miss him’. I do miss him, like I missed all my friends and family. Honestly, he’s been so supportive, honestly. I didn’t know if he was still in Strictly and I’m so proud of him, he’s proud of me, and I can’t wait to see him when I get back.”
