Former Love Island star Maura Higgins previously revealed her tactics when she’s linked to men in the press as she is spotted kissing McFly star Danny Jones
Maura Higgins once revealed her strategy for dealing with situations where she’s photographed with male celebrities at high-profile events.
The 34-year-old former Love Island star recently found herself at the centre of a controversy involving a leaked video of her sharing a drunken kiss with married McFly star Danny Jones at a BRITs after-party. However, she has learned to handle such rumours with ease.
In an interview with Paul C Brunson on his We Need To Talk podcast in December, Maura discussed how she navigates situations where she’s been pictured with other famous men, saying: “I don’t really care, I never come out and go, ‘This is so not true’.”
She added: “I’ve learned saying nothing and the story will die quicker, so you’re better off just saying nothing. I think I’ve just got used to it now.”
Maura explained that she’s not bothered by the rumours, as her friends and family know the truth, and that’s all that matters. She also opened up about her past relationships, admitting she doesn’t have a “good track record” when it comes to dating, and shared her thoughts on how men and women can complement each other in friendships and partnerships.
Opening up further about her not-so-lucky love life, she admitted: “I mean, I’ve not had a great track record in relationships.”, reports the Daily Star. She later confided during the chat: “I just feel like apart from my best friend, every guy has just let me down. I expect to be let down and you can never be in a healthy relationship if I’m expecting that.”
The reality TV star has previously been linked with dating Love Island co-stars Curtis Pritchard and Chris Taylor, as well as romantic speculation with Strictly’s Giovanni Pernice, and TOWIE’s Pete Wicks.
However, the latest incident in which she shared a smooch with her I’m A Celeb campmate has got fans talking. Footage shared by the Sun appears to show Danny, who has been married to his wife Georgia Horsley since 2014, kissing Maura on the lips as they stood talking to one another. A source told the outlet that they “seemed to be having a great time,” adding: “They looked like they had a brief drunken kiss.”
