Maya Jama has shocked her celebrity pals by showing off her age-defying mum. The Love Island host, 30, posed alongside her mum Sadie, 50, as part of a new campaign where they looked more like sisters than mum and daughter.

She proudly shared the snaps of the pair rocking matching hairstyles, thanks to Maya’s clip in fringes and extensions. The stunning photos saw the duo come together to mark Mother’s Day for her Beauty Works hair extensions range.

Maya also posted a behind-the-scenes clip of her having fun on set with her gorgeous mother as they danced and brushed each other’s hair. The proud presenter declared: “The best shoot days are ones with my family,” alongside a red love heart emoji.

She held her mum’s hand as the lookalike pair gave a sultry look to the camera while wearing maxi dresses. They also got photo ready in matching white silk robes as a stylist touched up Sadie’s long dark locks.

Maya has been the face of Beauty Works for the past year, which is just the latest lucrative role she has landed alongside her impressive TV and radio work.

Her celebrity pals were stunned by how much Maya and Sadie look alike as Abbey Clancy commented: “Unreal.” Rapper Stefflon Don quipped: “Same body and face wow.”

Singer Paloma Faith gushed: “So so beautiful.” Rapper and singer Ms Banks wrote: “Your mum is beaut.” I’m A Celebrity star Nella Rose said: “It’s giving SISTERSSSS.”

Fans also dished out the compliments as one said: “You look like sisters!! Stunners,” and another added: “I am just speechless. What a vibe? Best friends.”

Maya was born and raised by her mum in Bristol, and often praises the support she has received. Sadie was a teenager when she gave birth to Maya, and named her daughter after the US activist Maya Angelou.

Maya has previously joked about how the pair look more like sisters and talking to the Evening Standard about the pair’s strong relationship, she once said: “She had me at 18, so our relationship was a bit different.

“I rebelled less because I was quite free. My mum’s always been like, ‘I want you to have your experiences – just tell me. I’m not going to judge you or shout at you.”

Sadie turned 50 in January, with Maya on hand to treat her mum as she marked the landmark occasion. Maya gushed: “Happy 50th birthday to my beautiful motherrrrr.” She shared a number of loving emojis before spilling the advice she carries with her from Sadie.

“Thank you for teaching me all of the things but mostly f*** what others think along as long as you stay kind and stay true to yourself. Icon to all those who have the pleasure of knowing you.”

In her final sweet post, she shared a video of her and her mum enjoying a sing-a-long with her brother Omar and his pals. Maya’s dad, Hussein, wasn’t around much while she was growing up due to being in and out of prison.

However, Maya told Marie Claire that she didn’t let his absence affect her too much. She said: “Anything that seems tragic or could make people feel sorry for me, I make a joke out of.

“I guess it’s because I’m OK with it. I’ve accepted it and I don’t want you making me feel like you’re sorry for me. If people said, ‘Where’s your dad?’ I’d say, ‘Oh, he’s in jail’ and I’d laugh about it. It wasn’t something I sat at home and cried about.”

She also told the magazine that she was grateful that her mum had found love again, and that she had seen what a healthy, loving relationship looks like. Maya said: “When I was 10, my mum met my stepfather and he is the loveliest man.

“So I got to see a loving relationship, which I think is what can affect young women growing up without a dad – not experiencing love firsthand and seeing how a healthy relationship should be. Dad wasn’t around, but I had all the love I needed from elsewhere.”
