In Meghan Markle’s new entertainment show With Love, Meghan, which made its debut on Netflix this week, the Duchess of Sussex talks about her family, including Archie and Lilibet

Meghan Markle has opened up about her children’s lives – and one of the people they call “uncle.”

In With Love, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex’s new entertainment show, she lists some of her favourite things, and introduces close friends to her viewers.

One of these is makeup artist Daniel Martin, who Meghan says has a special bond with Archie, five, and three-year-old Lilibet. The programme, which made its debut on Netflix this week, details their close relationship.

Meghan, 43, tells viewers: “He has just been in my life for the before, during, and after, shall we say, and he’s very much a mainstay. Uncle Daniel, the kids call him. They know Daniel very well, and I love him to pieces.”

Of course, Archie and Lilibet have an uncle in Prince William, Prince of Wales, though he lives more than 5,000 away at Adelaide Cottage, located within the grounds of Windsor. William is Prince Harry’s brother and Meghan has two half siblings, including Thomas Markle Jr.

But last year, Thomas, 58, was slammed for running a vile new campaign of abuse against her on his YouTube channel. In 2022, he appeared to cut ties with Meghan after the former actress’ documentary about her time in the royal fold aired on Netflix.

And over the past few years, things have appeared to be strained between Prince Harry and Prince William too, especially after Harry’s bombshell 2023 memoir, called Spare.

During the first episode of With Love, Meghan, Daniel and Markle make multiple dishes together – including a one-pot pasta and a honey cake topped with buttercream and raspberries. They also work together to make beeswax candles straight from the bees she keeps in her garden.

In another episode, Meghan addresses her mum and other guests with a passionate speech. She says: “I just want to raise a glass to you guys. This feels like a new chapter that I’m so excited that I’m able to share and I’ve been able to learn from all of you. So I just thank you for all the love and support. All of that is part of that creativity that I’ve missed so much, so thank you for loving me so much and celebrating with me.”
