The Duchess of Sussex has been tipped to attend the major film event in Hollywood – and a PR expert has revealed why it would be a smart move for Prince Harry’s wife

An expert has predicted that Meghan Markle might make a glitzy appearance in Hollywood next week.

As the Duchess of Sussex gears up for the release of her highly anticipated Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, the Oscars could offer the perfect opportunity to promote her new series, which drops on 4 March.

Speaking to Sportsbook Review about the potential appearance, PR expert, Lynn Carratt said: “It would show that not only is she focused on building her own brand away from the Royals, especially if she attends solo, but make a statement that she has every intention of reinserting herself back into the world of entertainment in a nod to her past life.”

Lynn further noted that it had been rumoured the Academy Awards reached out to Harry and Meghan to attend last year, but the pair were a “no show”, having “no reason” to attend at the time. “With only one project left as part of her and Harry’s five-year deal with Netflix, attending the Oscars would be a clever PR move by Meghan to boost viewing figures and ensure these final projects are a success,” the pro noted.

With Love, Meghan, was initially due to premiere in January but the release date was pushed back to March 4 due to the devastation caused by the LA wildfires.

“I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California,” the Duchess said in a statement confirming the news.

In the eight-episode lifestyle series, Meghan is set to share personal tips and tricks about cooking, gardening and hosting with guests including Roy Choi, Mindy Kaling, Alice Waters.

Mindy recently spoke to Time about her part in the upcoming Netflix show saying the series will reveal more about the Duchess. “I think a misconception about Meghan is that she’s in any way fussy or has expectations of fanciness,” the Office actress said. “She really is a down-to-earth person who knows a lot of fun tricks to make entertaining and cooking easier.”

Mindy went on to hint a little about the episode she takes part in, picking up some tips for throwing a children’s party. “I love cooking, but I’m really not good at entertaining,” she confessed. “I don’t know anything about how you’re not supposed to use overhead lighting when people come over. You’re supposed to use little lamps. But Meghan just knows how to do that stuff.”
