The former undisputed heavyweight world champion was forced to pull out of the original date earlier this year after suffering an ulcer flare-up

Mike Tyson has sensationally revealed he lost 26lb in weight after withdrawing from the boxing fight with social media star Jake Paul earlier this year.

Back in May, the former undisputed heavyweight world champion suffered an ulcer flare-up which caused him to become dizzy during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles. Paramedics attended Tyson at LAX, confirming what had happened. A statement read: “Thankfully Mr. Tyson is doing great.

“He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare-up 30 minutes before landing. He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him”. Recently, Tyson revealed that his diet was what caused the flare-up, telling Mail Online: “I was doing too much bad food and stuff, and I got sick”.

The ulcer flare-up caused the July showdown to be postponed. It wasn’t long before the bout was rebooked, though. The pair will finally go head-to-head on November 15 at the AT&T Stadium in Texas in front of up to 80,000 people. Despite the event taking place next week, many fans are still fearing for the 58-year-old’s health.

Ahead of the heavyweight dust-up, Netflix have decided to release a documentary showing fans exclusive behind the scenes footage of the two boxing stars preparing for the contest on November 15. ‘Iron Mike’ famously recalled the day he suffered an ulcer-flare up on the flight.

“A week and a half ago I was training and I was doing great but then all of a sudden I started feeling tired,” he said during a Netflix documentary. “I was explaining to my trainer, ‘I don’t know what’s wrong with me’.

“Coming here from Miami on the plane, I went to the bathroom and I threw up blood. The next thing I know I’m on the floor, I was defecating tar. So I came here and they found I had a big ulcer, two-and-a-half inches, and it was bleeding. All my friends were calling me like I was dying”.

To put into perspective how serious the issue was, the 58-year-old famously revealed he lost 26 pounds and even feared for his life following the tragic incident. He added: “I asked the doctor if I was going to die and she didn’t say no. She said we have options though, and that’s when I got nervous. I can’t wait to get out of this motherf***er, man. God, I want to fight and start training. I don’t want to die in the hospital bedroom, I want to die in the ring. You wouldn’t believe what I endured from my ulcer. I lost 26 pounds, can you imagine that? I was so p***ed off because I had peaked. I was good, talking s***, ready”.

Tyson hasn’t fought a professional contest since suffering a defeat to Kevin McBride back in 2005. He did, however, take part in an exhibition fight against fellow boxing legend Roy Jones Jr four years ago. As for Paul, ‘The Problem Child’ comes into the clash off the back of a brutal knockout win against Mike Perry back in July, With a professional record of 10-1, the young American’s only defeat in the sport came against Tommy Fury last year.
