A 17-year-old, who has only been identified by police as James, was last seen in Morecambe, in the north west of England, on Sunday, May 18 – police believe he could be up to 168 miles away from his home
Police have issued an urgent appeal for information as they search for a teenager missing from England, feared to be in Scotland. Seventeen year old James vanished on Sunday, May 18.
He was last sighted in Morecambe, a town in the north west of England, on Thornton Road. At roughly 2:20pm on the day he disappeared, James was seen sporting a black t-shirt, tracksuit, silver chain, and a cap.
Described as 5ft 6ins with short hair, shaven at the sides, and sporting facial hair, it’s believed that he may have travelled to Glasgow. With Glasgow located a significant 166 miles north of Morecambe, the car journey is estimated to take about two hours and 43 minutes, reports the Daily Record.
An appeal on the Police Scotland Greater Glasgow Facebook page urges public assistance: “Can you help Morecambe Police? They believe James could be in the Glasgow area.”
More details of James’ disappearance were shared by Morecambe Police online: “Have you seen James? James, 17, is missing from Morecambe.”
Detailing his last known location and appearance, the post continues: “He was last seen on Thornton Road on 18th May at around 2:20pm. Since James was reported as missing to us, we have carried out enquiries offline, but are now asking for your help.”
Urging the public to be vigilant, the appeal concluded: “He is 5ft 6in with short hair, shaved on the sides with facial hair. He was last seen wearing a tracksuit, black t-shirt, a silver chain and a cap. If you see James, or know where he may be, please call 101 quoting log 0698 of 20th May.
