Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah has revealed that he is yet to be offered a new contract by the club’s owners and teased that he could now leave at the end of the season

Mohamad Salah says he is “disappointed” to have not been offered a new contract by Liverpool and is now “probably” more likely to leave at the end of the season.

The 32-year-old’s current terms expire at the end of the season and there has been plenty of speculation over his future over the last 12 months amid transfer interest from clubs in the Saudi Pro League.

Salah has been in sensational form for Liverpool this season, scoring 12 goals and registering a further 10 assists in just 18 games.

But in the aftermath of Sunday’s 3-2 win over Southampton, he told reporters that he had received no offers to extend his stay beyond the summer – just weeks before he is free to speak with interested clubs from overseas with a view to signing a pre-contract agreement.

“We are almost in December and I haven’t received any offers yet to stay in the club. I’m probably more out than in,” he said.

“You know I have been in the club for many years. There is no club like this. But in the end it is not in my hands. As I said before, it is December and I haven’t received anything yet about my future.

“I love the fans. The fans love me. In the end it is not in my hands or the fans’ hands. Let’s wait and see.”

When he was asked if he was disappointed with the situation, Salah added: “Of course, yeah. I’m not going to retire soon so I’m just playing, focusing on the season and I’m trying to win the Premier League and hopefully the Champions League as well. I’m disappointed but we will see.”
