Going off to university is no small feat, especially when you’re moving cities to study. That’s why one mum wanted to give her daughter a present to remember when she was going away, and people said they were getting “emotional” at the thoughtfulness behind every single page, with some even “sobbing”.

“Made my daughter a going away to uni book full of treats,” Abi who posts as @abi_wellness_journey, shared on TikTok, showing a video of her flicking through the pages. And there were so many things within the folder that would certainly come in handy over the next year.

The book was titled “Lexie’s book of treats for uni,” and the first gift was a £20 takeaway voucher “for when you don’t want to cook or fancy a Greggs sausage roll”.

Then, up next was a Primark voucher for £15 “for when you need new PJs or new underwear or anything else”.

The third prezzie was an Uber voucher which is “for when you don’t want to cook or go out, or you need an Uber driver as you don’t want to drive yourself”.

Next was a £20 Nando’s voucher “for when you need a cheeky Nando’s”.

Then there was a car air freshener “for when your car needs a clean but dad isn’t there to clean it. This will freshen it up a bit”.

She shared a mini Sudoku book which her daughter can benefit from if bored or in need of a challenge.

Abi had then put in a notebook, “for when you have some brilliant ideas” so she could “write them down”.

Next was some chewing gum and mints “for when you are going out or meeting any boys”.

Then, some Haribo, “for when you need a sweet treat,” and some Pop-Tarts, “for when you need a quick breakfast”.

She popped some cash in there for her daughter “for when you need some extra cash, or a Chinese takeaway”.

Some chocolate was up next, “for when you are feeling sad and only chocolate will help”.

Abi had then included a really touching section in the book, saying: “For when you are doubting yourself, remember your achievements,” and then she’d stuck in a bunch of things Lexie had achieved over the years.

She also stuck in photos of family members that she could look at when she’s missing them while she’s at uni, including her dog, Kasper.

Abi also popped in a load of family photos “for when you’re missing home,” writing “we miss you too”.

“And lastly, for some extra luck,” Abi had written, and in the following part of the folder there was a Nomination Italy jewellery box.

In the comments, one mum wrote: “I’m crying! I might do this for my son leaving.”

Another said: “Absolutely brilliant idea. My daughter is going in Sept 26 and I’ve started buying stuff already. I’m definitely going to do this too, I love it. And it got me very emotional. There’s only the two of us, I’m going to miss her so much.”

Abi shared the book cost her “about £120 to make,” urging others they could “do it without the vouchers” to make it cheaper.
