Amazon’s best ever streaming deal, launched in time for Prime Day, will save music fans a chunk of cash compared to Spotify

If you’re a music lover who enjoys free streaming, Spotify is a top choice with its entirely free service or premium plan for less than £10 per month. However, its free service has a few drawbacks which many convince many to switch to rival Amazon Music.

On its free plan Spotify doesn’t let you download or listen while offline, but a new deal from Amazon will let you do exactly that and it’s now completely free to do so. Thanks to Amazon’s looming Prime Day sale, set for July 16 and 17, the internet retailer has cut the price of its streaming platform.

While hundreds, if not thousands of shopping items will be reduced for the sale, one of the longest lasting savings is its popular music platform which is now free for the next five months – so, you won’t pay a penny for most of the rest of the year.

This means those who sign up will enjoy free music streaming until December. Even if you don’t have Prime, you can still take advantage of the offer, although the freebie drops to three months instead of five. Amazon Music Unlimited provides access to millions of songs, all ad-free and available in high-quality formats including stunning HD and Spatial Audio.

As Tech Editor, Dave Snelling explains for The Express, Amazon’s Music Unlimited quality features “create an immersive sound experience as if the music is coming at you from all directions”. This means you’ll have unlimited access to music whether you’re working from home, commuting, lounging by the pool on holiday or simply doing your daily chores.

Fancy free takeaway delivery? Access to Deliveroo Plus is one of a host of advantages of Amazon Prime membership, including exclusive Prime Day discounts and perks on Hello Fresh, music, books and Prime Video. Usually £8.99 a month, you can now get a 30-day free trial to get access to the latest deals.

Amazon’s Prime Day is set to kick off on July 16, and all shoppers who aren’t already Prime members are being encouraged to sign up for its free trial – this will ensure you get access to all of the price discounts. John Boumphrey, UK Country Manager of Amazon, said: “The countdown to the 10th Prime Day in the UK starts now, and we have a huge selection of deals to come.”

“We work really hard to deliver great products at the best prices for customers during Prime Day and throughout the year, from the biggest brands to the 100,000 small British businesses that sell on Amazon.”

But Amazon isn’t the only retailer offering a wave of summer deals, as we speak John Lewis and Samsung have also launched a range of discounts including money off Euro-watching TV sets, smartphones, and headphones you may want to grab alongside Amazon’s free streaming deal.
