Police are becoming increasingly concerned about the whereabouts of a 23-year-old runner who was last seen leaving her home in County Durham on Tuesday, February 18

As the search for missing farmer’s daughter Jenny Hall enters its fourth day, police have admitted they are increasingly concerned about the young woman’s whereabouts. Jenny, 23, was last seen leaving Barracks Farm in County Durham on Tuesday around 3pm, but seems to have disappeared without a trace.

As the search for the missing woman continues into day four, we take a look at everything we know so far about the mystery disappearance of Jenny Hall.

It’s been four long days for the police officers, mountain rescue teams and sniffer dogs who have been searching for a young woman who seems to have vanished into thin air. Jenny was last seen leaving her home around 3pm on Tuesday and Durham Police believe she was heading to the Barnard Castle area.

Her car, a red Ford Focus, was found the next day parked on the B6278, which is near remote moorland between the village of Eggleston and town of Stanhope. Her vehicle was located thanks to dash cam footage from a passing motorist which showed the missing woman’s car abandoned on a remote moor, according to The Sun.

The driver who captured the footage said: “It is an incredibly remote area. My fears for the missing woman are growing. I really hope she is found safe and well.” The video was taken just one hour after Jenny Hall left her home in Tow Law, County Durham, shortly after 3pm on Tuesday.

But apart from her car, police have found no other clues to where she could be. The police have checked Ms Hall’s mobile phone, smartwatch and running apps over the last few days. On Friday, the search moved to the running trails Ms Hall often uses between Eggleston and Hamsterley.

Chief Inspector Dean Haythornthwaite, of Durham Constabulary, said: “We have become increasingly concerned for Jenny since she was reported missing on Tuesday and have been exploring all lines of inquiry.”

Jenny is white, six feet tall with dark brown hair, which her family say could have been tied in a ponytail. She was last seen wearing a blue John Deere hoodie, dark jogging bottoms and may have been carrying a green jacket.

Today, Saturday February 22, police confirmed they are teaming up with mountain rescue teams to search Hamsterley Forest in County Durham with specialist drones, to try and find Jenny. And, while Hamsterley Forest remains open to visitors, police have urged the public not to join the search as it could disturb their work and distract the sniffer dogs.

Meanwhile, Chief Inspector Haythornthwaite said they are doing everything they can to find Jenny, saying: “We have become increasingly concerned for Jenny since she was reported missing on Tuesday and have been exploring all lines of enquiry, including dozens from members of the public. We are focussing our search on areas we know Jenny likes to run through and we are determined to do everything we can to find her.”

Anyone who believes they may have seen Jenny, or may have relevant information regarding her whereabouts should contact the police by phoning 999.
