People have been wondering whether Nesquik can be made with water or only milk – now the brand has finally settled the debate after people opened up the debate on Reddit

For years there have been debates over how Nesquik should be made, with people unsure whether they were making this powdery drink correctly.

After a lot of speculation about how best to make Nesquik, the brand has finally revealed their stance on the debate – and it’s not what you would expect. Nesquik – which comes in chocolate, strawberry, and banana, can be drunk hot or cold, according to the brand’s website. But what should it be mixed with?

There’s been a long-standing debate about whether Nesquik is best mixed with milk or water. Lovers of the powdery milkshake mix have been asking for years for an answer to how the drink should be made.

A post on Reddit titled ‘I love to drink Nesquik with water’ sparked an online debate. The poster said: “Ever since I was little, I’ve always mixed the chocolate/strawberry mix into my water, and have loved it! I didn’t think it was that strange, until I had a friend over at 10, who told me I was weird!

“I personally think it’s delicious, and although I like milk by itself, having the powder with milk tastes strange. I think more people should try it with water, but most won’t even consider the idea.”

People were quick to comment on the controversial post, with one Reddit user writing: “Wait, this is unpopular? I literally do this all the time lamo.” Another added: “Tried it and didn’t like it, imagine most people are the same. But you do you man.” A third reasoned: “Do people not drink hot chocolate mix? You put hot water into that… Can’t think why this would be any different using cold water and quik!”.

So, what does Nesquik have to say on the matter? According to the Nesquik website, Nesquik can be ‘enjoyed with your favourite non-dairy milk alternatives’ and listed ‘almond, oat or soy milk’ as good options. While the brand didn’t comment on whether water can be used instead of milk, they didn’t rule it out either.
