A building believed to be a shoe factory is alight tonight in Crome Road, Norwich, as firefighters battle the out of control blaze while people are told to stay indoors
Residents have been ordered to keep doors and windows shut as a fire burns out of control at a nearby derelict warehouse.
The blaze was reported earlier this evening in Norwich, Norfolk, and several witnesses living close to the scene have posted their own images of the huge flames billowing into the night’s sky. People have been advised to keep doors and windows closed as the incident continues.
A spokesman for Norfolk Fire & Rescue said: “We are currently fighting a large derelict building fire on Dibden Road. Please keep all doors and windows closed due to a large smoke plume.”
It is currently unknown what caused the fire. Witness Alan Dunne told the Eastern Daily Press: “It’s crazy, there are so many people here. Floods of cars leaving from people that live here and cars arriving by people being wanting to watch.
“You can’t move on the roads. There are around three fire engines I can see this side of the building, one with a crane, but I can hear more sirens coming.”
