A TikTok user has revealed that there’s one plant that everyone needs in their bedroom and there are six reasons why this easy-to-care-for plant is a game-changer
A TikToker has revealed the one plant everyone needs in their bedroom to help them sleep – and it comes NASA approved.
The TikTok user, who goes by the name of FestyNice4 online, revealed that the ‘best’ plant to have in your bedroom is a snake plant, and there are six reasons why. At the start of the video, he explains that there are six reasons why a snake plant is a great choice to add to your bedroom and adds that the sixth reason is a little ‘controversial’. The first reason it pays to have a snake plant in your bedroom is because it creates a lot of oxygen. He explained: “The snake plant is one of the plants that produces the most oxygen and purifies the air compared to other plants we might have at home.”
Plus, unlike most other plants that only produce oxygen in the day, the snake plant also produces oxygen at night. He explained: “So during the day it will absorb the bad air with some components that aren’t so healthy for humans and at night it will release the purest oxygen.” Then there’s the fact that snake plants remove pollutants from the air.
In the video, FestyNice4 explained that: “The snake plant is capable of removing pollutant toxins from the air, this means it’s very good at combating allergies. “And, as I said, this will happen during the day and at night your room will have clean air free from impurities.” Another great bonus of this plant is that it’s ‘super easy’ to look after.
The TikToker explained: “It adapts to different light conditions and it doesn’t need much water – being native to South Africa it withstands drier and hotter climates which makes it durable even without water. “It also doesn’t need direct light to grow, so it can easily stay in place with little illumination.” FestyNice4 also added that the fact that snake plants are extremely aesthetically pleasing is another reason to add one to your home.
He said: “It’s very beautiful. Need more reason than that? It looks great in the bedroom, in the bathroom, it will decorate your house because it’s a wonderful plant.” The social media influencer also explained that snake plants are great for people who have ‘problems with rhinitis, sinusitis, and other respiratory related diseases’.
The last – and most controversial reason – FestyNice4 shared in the video was that snake plants absorb negative energy. He explained: “There are people who believe it absorbs all the negative energy from certain people who visit your home.” At the end of the video, he reminds his followers that it’s crucial to handle your snake plant carefully and to keep it away from small children and pets as its leaves are toxic and can cause allergies.
