PayPal appears to be having issues today with thousands complaining they can’t log in.

No, don’t worry – it’s not just you. PayPal really is down right now. That’s according to thousands of users of the popular payment platform with many saying they are experiencing a number of technical difficulties this lunchtime.

The gremlins, which have left users logged out and unable to make payments, started at around 12pm and are still ongoing. It’s unclear what is causing the problems but it’s affecting a huge number of people including those in the UK.

Independent website Down Detector, which tracks “when services go down or have outages”, has also reported a massive spike in the number of people complaining about PayPal not working properly.

Along with that Down Detector report, social media is also full of people complaining about the glitch with many heading to X (formerly Twitter ) to vent their frustrations.

One user named Michael said: “Yes it’s very annoying. Looks like it’s happening for many people. I thought it was just me. No announcement from them either. Very poor for such a huge company”

Another person called Kagan added: “My password suddenly stopped working today. I tried resetting it, but the password reset/forgot function on the login page isn’t working. I can’t send a message to support because I can’t log in, and the support phone number doesn’t work either. What a mess.”

Meanwhile, Ken simply added: “I couldn’t login my account too.”

PayPal is yet to respond to the reports of the outage but Mirror Online will monitor the situation and update this article when we hear more.
