Penhaligon’s fans can get ‘perfect’ perfume for £10 with discovery set

The scents are raved about for their longevity and complexity, with them being called ‘perfect’ by fans who reach for them daily

Perfume fans are swearing by a ‘perfect’ perfume that they insist is the ‘scent of royalty’ and there’s a way to get it for £10. Halfeti by Penhaligon’s usualy has a £215 price tag but a petite bottle of the real thing is available for less when buying the £40 Gentlemen’s Fragrance Collection.

Discovery sets are a popular way to explore a new range of perfumes and find the best fit without balling out on full sized bottles – a particularly good idea when the bottles are over £200 a pop. Maison Margiela offer a trio of 10ml bottles that are selected based on seasonal appeal, currently the autumn trio is £65 on Sephora.

Sets also come with a wider variety of scents if shoppers are happy to have smaller bottles, such as the £39 Discovery Set from Phlur with eight scents in 2ml vials. The Gentlemen’s Fragrance Collection contains five 5ml bottles of perfume from the luxury perfume brand.

It might not sound like a lot but that’s a total of 25mls and our team fragrance expect has been known to make just 10ml stretch to last over a month with daily use. Inside the Penhaligon’s set are five 5ml bottles of the brand’s iconic scents.

• Endymion (Top notes are Lavender, Bergamot, Sage and Mandarin Orange; middle notes are Coffee and Geranium; base notes are Leather, Sandalwood, Cardamon, Myrhh, Nutmeg, Black Pepper, Musk, Incense, Vetiver and Olibanum)
• Halfeti (Top notes are Cypress Leaf, Saffron, Cardamom, Artemisia, Bergamot and Grapefruit; middle notes are Bulgarian Rose, Nutmeg and Jasmine; base notes are Agarwood (Oud), Cedar, Leather, Sandalwood, Amber, Tonka Bean, Vanilla and Musk)
• Juniper Sling (Top notes are Juniper Berries, Orange, Angelica and Cinnamon; middle notes are Pepper, Cardamom, Leather and Orris Root; base notes are Vetiver, Sugar, Cherry and Amber)

While all the scents are enjoyed by consumers, it’s the unisex Halfeti that is has been dubbed ‘perfect’. On the Penhaligon’s website it’s brought in an average of 4.7 out of five stars.
