A couple have hit back at cruel trolls who mock them for their height difference and apperances despite them being together for ten years

A couple have hit back at trolls who say their looks “don’t match up” – with people assuming they are brother and sister.

Teenage sweethearts Cam and Sam met at secondary school, and while their romance is still going strong 10 years later, they have faced trolling comments over their height difference and looks.

The pair initially bonded at school over Lord of the Rings, but now men say Sam is out of Cam’s league – and also comment on Sam being much taller than her boyfriend.

Sam is 5’8 and loves to dress up in heels and towers over her 5’4 boyfriend who prefers a more relaxed look in jeans and hoodies. Despite men trying it on with Sam in front of Cam, the pair are madly in love and the self-confessed nerds don’t listen to the wave of abuse – mostly directed at Cam.

Speaking to Truly, Cam said: “The fact that she was even talking to me blew my mind, people hit on my girlfriend in front of me,” and said most of the online hate is towards him as people cruelly ask how Sam could be with him, with some brutally saying “Blink twice if you need help,” and others slamming Sam for being a gold-digger.

The couple went viral on TikTok when a content creator posted a video of them on a date, and approached Sam for her number while Cam was stood next to her. Sam refused and politely explained Cam was her boyfriend, which shocked the content creator who assumed Cam was her brother.

While the couple said they initially felt uncomfortable after the clip racked up millions of views, Sam said: “That video that got posted without our permission was one of the most irritating ones we’ve experienced so far because it was just somebody who interrupted us being in love to make fun of us being in love and for monetary gain.”

Sam also faces comments that she’s only with Cam for the money, but revealed she is often the provider as Cam has struggled to hold down a job. While they face negativity surrounding their relationship, they assured the haters they were both in it for the long haul.

People were quick to comment on the Truly YouTube video, and one viewer said: “They’re both nerds. He’s short and she’s tall. What’s so abnormal about that? They seem like a normal couple,” and another added: “People are so shallow they judge a person by their appearance. What matters is their heart and their love for each other.”
