Rebekah Vardy, who was in I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2017, is said to be hatching a “revenge plot” against WAG rival Coleen Rooney following their libel trial

Rebekah Vardy has laid down the gauntlet to ITV – telling the broadcaster to get her on I’m a Celeb so she can confront Coleen Rooney.

The media personality is hatching a “revenge plot” against WAG rival, it is understood, and has expressed her desire to go on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! as a late entry.

Coleen, 38, has already been confirmed as a contestant this year, and her first scenes are expected to air on Sunday. Pictures show the mum of four embracing TikTok legend GK Barry, also confirmed as a participant in the flagship ITV programme.

But speaking ahead of the series, Rebekah, 42, said: If people really want us to meet up before that, then ITV should get me in that jungle as a special guest. What are they scared of? Confrontation? But isn’t that what the show’s all about? It’s about viewing figures.”

Rebekah, married to Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, has been embroiled in a high-profile libel battle with fellow footballer’s wife Coleen. Rebekah added: “Coleen’s legal team were very dismissive about my reality TV past. They mocked it. So for her to be doing the jungle now, it’s hypocrisy at its finest, isn’t it? I think there was always a plan for reinvention. She stayed out of the public eye for so long.”

The mum of five told The Sun she will be watching Coleen on the show but doesn’t think Wayne’s wife will come across well. She claims Coleen is “quite calculated” with everything that she does and “likes to be the victim” – adding she suspects her rival will enter the jungle with a game plan. Rebekah was in I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2017, but was the third star to be booted out.

Although Coleen was initially the jungle favourite this year, odds on her have now been slashed to 9/1, while Danny Jones has grown in popularity and is placed at 5/2. Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: “Coleen Rooney is the most famous face heading to the jungle and punters are convinced that she will be voted to do the most bushtucker trials. Whether or not she can handle it remains to be seen, but we have witnessed money on her throwing in the towel.”

This concern was echoed by an insider who, earlier this week, had said Coleen would likely “quit on the spot” if Rebekah is introduced as a late entry. Coleen’s anticipated reaction would reportedly be a “nightmare” for ITV bosses who have reportedly lured the TV personality onto the show with a whopping £1.5million deal. The mum of four was pictured arriving at an airport in Australia earlier this week, in advance of the start of the series on Sunday.
