Brit Award winner Rihanna has long been speculated to perform at Glastonbury Festival over the years and there’s now more rumours of her potentially performing in the UK soon

There is renewed speculation that Rihanna could be planning to headline Glastonbury Festival later this year.

The singer, 37, has yet to perform at the festival on Worthy Farm in Somerset, despite there having been rumours of potential appearances in previous years. Last year it was suggested that she would take to the stage for it in 2025 and there’s yet more speculation over the prospect now.

It would mean she joins the likes of Sir Rod Stewart, who’s already been announced as part of the line-up alongside Neil Young. Other rumoured acts for this year’s festival include Chappell Roan, Olivia Rodrigo and Charli XCX. The full line-up has however yet to be announced ahead of Glastonbury’s return in four months.

This week, it’s been reported that Rihanna may return to the UK in the summer for Glastonbury amid claims that she’s also planning a series of concerts in London. The Telegraph reports that “pieces are falling into place” for her to headline Glastonbury at the end of June ahead of a potential residency at London Stadium in early July.

It reports that the Brit Award winner is planning up to six concerts at the venue, also known as the Olympic Stadium – with those shows said to be at the “the advanced planning stage”. A source told the outlet that the opening shows are “tentatively” planned for July 4 and 5, with further possible shows “earmarked” for July 8, 9, 11 and 12. The Telegraph adds that the concerts would therefore begin just five days after Glastonbury, which will run from June 25 to 29 this year, ends – suggesting a gap in her schedule that could be filled by the festival.

There has long been speculation of Rihanna potentially headlining Glastonbury over the years. It was reported in August last year that the prospect was “back on the table” amid rumours at the time that she was preparing to release a new album and planning to embark on a tour this year.

Rihanna’s last headline tour was the Anti World Tour, which took place back in 2016. The tour, launched in promotion of her album Anti, which remains her most recent solo album, saw the Grammy Award winner perform at venues in England, Scotland and Ireland. She also visited various other countries over a period of months, with the world tour having concluded in the United Arab Emirates in November that year, after having opened in the US eight months prior.
