Samsung Galaxy users must check their settings and install the latest update without delay.
Anyone with a recently released Galaxy phone in their pocket must check their settings and download the latest software update from the Korean technology firm without delay. Samsung has just confirmed that it’s released a vital free upgrade that fixes a number of worrying bugs, including some that have been deemed ‘critical’.
The patch, which has started rolling out from today, features a total of 58 changes including 51 Android updates from Google and a further 7 from Samsung. 11 of the fixes have been given that ‘critical’ rating with a further 40 labeled as high priority.
“Samsung Mobile is releasing a maintenance release for major flagship models as part of monthly Security Maintenance Release (SMR) process,” Samung said on its update page.
“This SMR package includes patches from Google and Samsung.”
It’s been confirmed that some of the Samsung fixes are related to the Galaxy phone’s Bluetooth, Samsung’s Galaxy Watch features, MAC address, and improper access control.
If you have a Galaxy device in your pocket it’s worth checking to see if it’s updated or needs to have this new software installed.
“At Samsung, we take security and privacy issues very seriously and we are doing our best to respond as quickly as possible,” Samsung added.
“Securing your device and maintaining the trust you place in us is our top priority.”
