P Diddy told fans he had adopted a daughter called Ava in an Instagram live video in 2020, saying he had her ‘mother’s permission’ in the clip, which caused concern among fans

Ava Baroni speaks on about how P Diddy ‘adopted’ her

P Diddy’s relationship with his ‘adopted daughter’ has taken a bizarre twist following the rapper’s arrest.

Diddy, 54, is currently languishing in jail at the Metropolitan Detention Center in New York following sex trafficking charges, which he denies.

The Bad Boy star’s seven kids are all reportedly supporting their father as he awaits trial. However, in a video from four years ago, Diddy claimed he has another child, an adopted daughter called Ava Baroni.

Combs said in an Instagram live in 2020 that he “adopted” the girl because he wanted her to have a “Black parent”. However, sources have since claimed the video is a skit and Diddy did not formally adopt the girl in the video.

In the clip, Diddy is seen giving Ava a kiss on the cheek, and says he ‘adopted her’ with her mother’s permission. He asks her to introduce herself, and she says her name is “Ava”. Diddy asks: “What’s your last name?” “Ava Baroni” the girl replies before Diddy says: “Ava Baroni-Combs”.

Ava then claims she was “on the streets” before “Papa Combs decided that he was going to be a caring man”. “Yes, it’s breaking news. Diddy adopted a white child,” the rapper says, adding: “I want you to tell them the story of how I adopted you. You still have beautiful parents, but you’re my child also. Please, tell the story,” he asks her.

Giggling, with Diddy’s son, Quincy Brown, in the background, Ava says: “So, I was on the streets, and then Papa Combs decided that he would like to be a caring man. So then he saw me, and decided to pick me up. And said to come inside and play with his kids.”

“Ava, that’s a little borderline suspect,” Diddy states. “I adopted you like Madonna adopted kids, and everybody else adopted kids, Charlize Theron, Sandra Bullock. I adopted you because I felt that you could enjoy having a Black parent to take care of you, and help you out. So just clarify it, cause it’s crazy out here online.”

Asking Ava to clarify he has her ‘mother’s permission’, he continues: “You play with the kids, and I got permission from your mother, say all of that.”

Ava responds by saying that she has been friends with his and the late Kim Porter’s teenage twin daughters, D’Lila and Jessie, 17. “Well, I met Jessie and D’Lila when I was six-months-old. And then we basically are sisters,” she says.

However, on Monday, TMZ claimed Diddy is not actually Ava’s father and never legally adopted the girl. The outlet says Ava has reportedly known the twins since they were children, but is cared for by her own parents. Her parents are said to have been friends with Kim, and she remains close with D’Lila and Jessie. Diddy has not had a parental role in Ava’s life, and she and her family have distanced themselves from him.

The rapper shares a total of seven kids with four different women. Aside from twins D’Lila and Jessie, he also shares son Christian, 26, with Kim — who died in 2018 — and adopted her son Quincy, 33, from her previous relationship.
