Shocking footage shows a 30-foot Christmas tree up in flames.
Shoppers can be heard screaming an an intense fire rips through the Christmas tree put on display in an outdoor area of a shopping centre. The fiery spectacle unfolded in the B1 sunken square of Sanli Plaza in Chengdu, China, with the dramatic footage shared online on 25th December.
Videos show the festive tree, adorned with colourful lights, completely engulfed by flames from one side and all the way to the top, with black smoke billowing from it. Shoppers watched in shock and some are heard gasping and screaming as the blaze spreads towards other Christmas decorations hung from a nearby railing.

Mall staff and bystanders quickly used fire extinguishers to douse the flames, with no injuries reported. Initial investigations suggest a discarded cigarette butt may have ignited the tree’s flammable cotton decorations. Officials have urged the public to be mindful of fire hazards to prevent such incidents in the future.
