Samsung is launching some new and very smart TVs.
Samsung’s range of smart TVs is about to get even smarter. The Korean technology giant has just announced the launch of its latest and greatest televisions – including the flagship QLED 8K QN990F – which can help you find things to watch more easily, offer instant information about what’s being shown on the screen, and even translate foreign language shows and movies in real-time.
The very clever boost is being driven by something called Samsung Vision AI and it aims to make the humble telly feel more like a powerful PC.
There’s even the ability to quickly turn the giant black display into a unique work of art. Just tell Samsung’s AI what you want to see on the screen – such as the sun setting over the sea – and it will do the rest. That’s in addition to thousands of works of art already currently available via the Samsung Art Store.
These new goggleboxes can also link up to other smart devices you might own to show the real-time health of your home.
Alerts will appear if they spot something is wrong and the TVs can watch over the family with Samsung boasting its screens are so smart they can automatically dim the lights if someone happens to fall asleep in front of the telly.
To help boost the smart features further, Samsung’s upcoming televisions will get full access to Microsoft’s new Copilot service. That should make things far more intelligent. Samsung says its new partnership with Microsoft will enable users to seamlessly search for relevant information about on-screen content using a remote control or voice commands, and to explore a wide range of Copilot services, including personalised content recommendations, accessible through the screen.
Along with being clever, the next generation of TVs will also offer an improved visual experience. They get better 8K upscaling, so all content should look pixel-packed and pin-sharp. Plus there are other cinema-style upgrades such as Adaptive Sound Pro which monitors things so you get the best audio and Color Booster Pro which analyses scenes to make everything sing.
Finally, there’s a stunning new design that makes the screen super skinny and easier to pop on your wall.
“Samsung sees TVs not as one-directional devices for passive consumption but as interactive, intelligent partners that adapt to your needs,” said SW Yong, President and Head of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “With Samsung Vision AI, we’re reimagining what screens can do, connecting entertainment, personalisation, and lifestyle solutions into one seamless experience to simplify your life.”
Samsung’s new TVs will launch in the UK later this year – prices are yet to confirmed.
