Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag’s home in the Pacific Palisades, a neighbourhood in Los Angeles, was destroyed in a fire that raged through the area on Tuesday

Reality TV stars Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag’s home in the Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles, was engulfed by flames on Tuesday.

A massive 1,200-acre brush fire broke out in the Palisades on Tuesday morning, tragically resulting in Spencer and Heidi’s home being burned down as the wildfire tore through the star-studded neighbourhood, according to reports.

Thankfully, the couple, famous for their roles in The Hills, and their entire family managed to evacuate their home safely earlier in the day. Before the evacuation began, Spencer shared a video on his Instagram Stories showing fire officials attempting to control the blaze by dropping water from above onto the nearby mountainside.

He was seen outside his home, visibly upset by the spreading fire. His sister Stephanie also her horror at the devastation. Taking to Instagram, she wrote: “I am beyond heartbroken for my brother, Heidi & the kids. And to all of our friends and neighbours who have lost their houses today.

“Just spoke to my dad – he tried to save my brother’s house but the wind is so strong there was nothing he could do. Even the fire station in the palisades has burned down. The Pacific Palisades is completely on fire. No one is there.”

She continued: “My parents evacuated safely and are watching the fire rage towards their house on security cameras. I don’t even want to look at mine as my dad told me the Market down the street from my house is on fire.”

She explained how the community is “tight” and said she hates being so far away and is thinking about flying home to “hug my family”.

Actor James Woods also captured footage of the raging flames from his home in the same threatened neighbourhood.

His video showed firefighters working tirelessly, dropping water on the area. The Getty Villa Museum was reported to be ‘on fire’ as the Pacific Palisades blaze continued its destructive path across LA.

Homes of other celebrities including Tom Hanks and Reese Witherspoon were also under threat from the blazing fire, with residents trapped, reports the Mirror US. Other celebrities residing in the area alongside Spencer and Heidi include Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, Miles Teller and his wife Keleigh, Reese Witherspoon, Adam Sandler, Steve Guttenberg, and Michael Keaton. Later on Tuesday, California Governor Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency for Ventura and Los Angeles counties due to the ongoing fire in the Pacific Palisades.

An estimated 30,000 residents are under evacuation orders, with over 13,000 structures at risk, according to LA Fire Department Chief Kristin Crowley. Governor Newsom disclosed that he had seen “many structures already destroyed.”

However, officials have yet to provide an exact count of structures damaged or destroyed by the wildfire. The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time. Multiple burn victims were found walking out of a Malibu neighbourhood towards Duke’s beachfront at around 9 p.m. on Tuesday night, The New York Timesreported, citing Erik Scott, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Governor Newsom urged residents across Southern California not to assume they were safe. He explained that the worst of the winds were expected between 10 p.m. Tuesday and 5 a.m. Wednesday. Red Flag warnings for much of Southern California will be in effect until Thursday afternoon. It’s thought almost 100,000 homes and businesses have been left without power in Los Angeles County, according to the tracking website poweroutage.us.
