Spotify Wrapped 2024 has landed and is better than ever. But, if you can’t access your musical round-up when you go on the app – one person has found a genius loophole

Spotify Wrapped is officially back – and our social media feeds are flooded. Every year, the audio streaming platform creates a custom story for its users, revealing data on our most-listened to artists, albums, as well as that one song we’ve had on repeat. For its 2024 edition, Spotify has introduced named ‘phases’ to our audio habits depending on the type of music you consume. For example, you could be in your ‘Wild West Banjo Outlaw Country’ era – or a ‘Pink pilates princesses’.

Swathes of Instagram users share their wrap online, boasting about how cool they are for exclusively listening to Indie music – or embracing the embarrassing pops they’ve had on loop behind closed doors. However, if you’ve not yet been able to access your Spotify Wrapped, there is a secret code to access it.

Your Spotify Wrap should automatically come up when you open the app on your phone or tablet. Just press the ‘Let’s go’ button in the middle of the screen to browse through your musical ‘phases’ and find your top five artists and songs of the year. You should also see new albums on the homepage, which are based on your listening habits over 2024. However, some people have complained that none of this appears when they log onto their Spotify account. Luckily, Reddit user Totally Not Here Girl posted a little-known hack last year which they say can bring your Wrap up immediately. “On Spotify, type ‘spotify:datastories:wrapped’ into the search bar,” they wrote. “That should work, if not I’m sorry my man.”

Viewers flocked to the comments section to hail the hack, with one user writing: “This worked! Thank you so much.” However, others said the hack just took them to a ‘white empty page’. “I’m having so much FOMO,” one person complained.

Spotify warned users that they should make sure their iOS or Android app is ‘up-to-date’ to access their 2024 Wrapped. “You can access the experience via the Wrapped feed on your Home screen, which serves as your one-stop spot for all things Wrapped,” it added.

Pop sensation Taylor Swift was crowned Spotify’s Global Artist of the year for the second year in a row, with more than 26.6 billion streams from around the world in 2024. The platform has added a Wrapped badge to Taylor’s Spotify profile, ‘marking the inaugural year of this annual distinction and a new expression of the top honour’.
