Nicky Young dropped a clue about Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page’s sudden breakup two years after the couple left Love Island in a relationship
Tasha Ghouri’s mum has seemingly waded into the debate about her daughter’s breakup from Andrew Le Page.
Tasha, 26, and Andrew, 29, met on Love Island in 2022, and stayed together for over two years before their shock breakup was announced earlier this month following her stint on Strictly Come Dancing. With fans confused about what caused the split, Tasha’s mum, Nicky Young, dropped some hints on social media.
One comment she liked suggested the couple just naturally drifted apart, reading: “Sometimes relationships just don’t work out. We’re not in their lives so we don’t know the reasons. Sometimes people can just outgrow each other or not be as driven or want different out of life and much more. They can try to keep it together but then it can be much worse.”
Prior to their sudden split, Tasha and Andrew seemed deeply invested in their relationship. The former couple bought a puppy, Luna, together, had matching rose tattoos, and were surrounded by engagement rumours. At the start of 2024, Tasha and Andrew even bought a house together and showed off their renovation progress on an Instagram account just for their shared home.
Prior to the breakup, Tasha was asked whether she thought the ‘Strictly curse’ could impact her relationship with Andrew, but the star firmly batted away any concerns.
In an interview with The Sun, she enthused: “Andrew, to me, is the hottest man on this whole planet. I look at him and I’m like: ‘Yeah, that’s my man’. Me and Andrew trust each other 100 per cent.”
Tasha made it clear how confident she was that their connection would sail through the Strictly experience, adding: “It’s not a make-or-break for us. We’re going to breeze through this because we’re going to marry each other one day, you know.”
Touching on the so-called ‘curse’ specifically, she added: “It doesn’t bother us at all. We didn’t have a discussion about ‘the Strictly curse’ because we trust each other.”
Despite Tasha’s certainty, an insider claimed that Strictly may have played a part in her recent breakup. They told The Sun: “Tasha was madly in love with Andrew but the cracks started to show when she appeared on Strictly. She gave her all in that competition. Her focus was purely on her dances with Aljaz and that drove a wedge between them as time went by.
“Now she’s going off on tour she’s going to be away from Andrew again. They talked about ending their relationship at the start of January and she’s pretty much heading out on the Strictly tour as a single woman.”
Alongside her pal’s words, some fans think Tasha is growing closer to her Strictly co-star, EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick. A video shared by Strictly professional Carlos Gu sparked speculation about Tasha’s growing closeness with him, showing Tasha and Jamie dancing while Carlos comments: “Fresh couple in the making.”
Jamie aside, Tasha already seems to be making moves to find a new romance. The star has reportedly set up a profile on the elite dating app Raya. Her profile describes her as a “Northern girly” who is “always smiling and laughing,” with photos of herself from Instagram tying the page together.
