The circular hike is among Scotland’s top seven “amazing” autumn walks according to the National Trust for Scotland.

It is home to all manner of outstanding terrain and scenery everything and has everything from dramatic gorges and babbling brooks to enormous trees and rolling hills. The hike is ideal for anybody looking to spend a few hours away from the noise and chaos of modern life. And for those who like their history, there is even the 15th-century Castle Campbell to explore. A woodland walk, which lies to the east of Stirling, it is is nestled below the expansive Ochil Hills and is also a top spot for wildlife lovers. There are many rare bird species such as green woodpeckers and dippers for those who enjoy birdwatching.

If you are looking for a walk hat feels a world away from the hustle and bustle of modern life, then it is hard to imagine a better place to head than this spot. It has bridges, waterfalls, and plenty of scenic viewpoints, it is perfect for hikers both young and old. There are more than 100 species of moss and lichen — many of which are extremely rare. It also has a wealth of other plants and ferns that are not common anywhere else. It is also a site is also a “nationally important location for lichens and ferns” according to the National Trust for Scotland. The walk is easily reached on foot from Dollar via the Mill Green. And for those who are concerned about meeting a schedule elsewhere after the hike, it should take around 90 minutes in total to complete, or around two hours if you visit Castle Campbell.

The best part of the enjoyable hike is it is circular hike and you will end up right back near Dollar. This means you can easily head into town for a pint or even a Sunday roast at the popular Forager gastropub. There is nothing better than a Sunday roast in a cosy pub when the weather is chilly. The pub in Dollar has been described in customer reviews on Google as having “the best roast” in Scotland. It has also been praised for its “warm” interiors and “super accommodating” staff.
