Are you a diehard supporter who has a wardrobe full of football shirts, or are you merely a spectator who has been to a handful of matches in their lifetime? Take our quiz to find out…

First-ever bubble wrapped bar

The quiz comes as a recent study of 1,000 football enthusiasts revealed that one in three football fans are so fervent about the game that they’ve drenched themselves in beer, torn their clothes and even wrecked their mobiles.

The research was conducted by tech brand, HONOR, which went as far as wrapping an entire pub in the heart of Barcelona in bubble wrap for fans watching the Barcelona v Bayern Munich match to prevent any unfortunate incidents.

A representative for the brand commented: “Football fans are arguably the lifeblood of the game, and their passion, commitment, and unwavering support can create an atmosphere like no other, both inside and outside the stadium.”

“Whether they’re cheering from the terraces or watching from their living rooms, fans stoke the excitement, turning every match into a spectacle of unity, pride, and love for the sport.”

“However, our research indicates that this enthusiasm can sometimes result in all sorts of amusing mishaps often involving personal possessions.”

Over four in ten (41%) confess to frequently getting swept up in the thrill during a football match. With 36% confessing to having experienced a football-related blunder while celebrating a goal.

According to data from OnePoll.com, one in ten have tossed their phone into the air. However, 64% argue that these mishaps were completely justified, just to witness the goal being scored.

A spokesperson for Honor, who commissioned the study to promote its new Magic V3, commented: “Despite these football fails, it appears fans believe it’s all worthwhile in the end to see their favourite team score a goal.”

“Nothing can surpass the roar of the crowd and the exhilaration of seeing the ball strike the back of the net.”

“It’s a rush of adrenaline and pride that lingers long after the match concludes and is what makes football the beautiful game that it is.”
