In case you’ve got cheese festivities planned, listen up: Dunnes Stores has announced a recall for a series of its cheese varieties and cheese-based products. This recall is prompted by concerns that Listeria monocytogenes might be present in these cheese items, reports Lancs Live.

According to the FSA, the cheeses involved have been produced by or have ingredients sourced from Wicklow Farmhouse Cheese in Ireland, and are available through Dunnes Stores in Northern Ireland.

The FSA stated: “The possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes in the products listed above. Symptoms caused by this organism can be similar to flu and include high temperature, muscle ache or pain, chills, feeling or being sick and diarrhoea.

“However, in rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications, such as meningitis. Some people are more vulnerable to listeria infections, including those over 65 years of age, pregnant women and their unborn babies, babies less than one month old and people with weakened immune systems.

“If you have bought the above products do not eat them. Instead, return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund.”

Beef slices

Tesco is recalling Tesco 10 Cooked Beef Slices because of a labelling error which shows an incorrect use-by date, making the product unsafe to eat. The product details are:Tesco 10 Cooked Beef SlicesPack size: 125gUse by: 24 January 2025.

The FSA issued a stern warning to Tesco customers: “If you have bought the above product do not eat it. Instead, return it to the Tesco store for a full refund. For further information, please contact customer service team on 0800 505 555.”

Red Cabbage and Apple

This comes amid ongoing concerns with Tesco’s Red Cabbage and Apple 300G, which has been recalled owing to incorrect labelling. The affected products mistakenly display a use-by date of December 29, instead of the intended December 11, potentially leading to consumption beyond the product’s safe period.

The FSA clarified, “An extension of the Use by Date could pose a risk to health, if the product is kept past the correct shelf life of the product.”

Consumers who purchased the item are urged not to consume it. Rather they should return it to any Tesco outlet for a compete refund or reach out to Tesco Customer Support at 0800 505 555.

Crushed garlic

For those who may be spicing up their meals with Morrisons Crushed Garlic, be cautioned that Morrisons is recalling their Morrisons Crushed Garlic 75g, with a best before date of 19.10. 25.

A key ingredient missing from the product could hinder microbiological growth control, presenting a safety hazard. While apologising for the inconvenience, Morrisons reassures customers of its commitment to product quality and safety standards.
