Lidl Deluxe Chocolate Orange Marbled Egg, £6.99

Lidl has absolutely nailed it with this one. Finished with an aesthetically pleasing marble effect, dark and white chocolate is infused with orange oil to create a grown up chocolate orange egg. It’s inexpensive too, at just £6.99 for 180g.

Co-op Irresistible Pretzel Crunch Golden Chocolate Egg, £7

Fairtrade ingredients have been used wherever possible, including Fairtrade cocoa, to create a sweet and salty treat. The chocolate element of this 200g egg is Belgian white with caramel, and interspersed throughout are crunchy pretzel pieces.

Hotel Chocolat White Nibbly Egg, £22.95

This is an egg for those who enjoy texture in their chocolate. Made from 36% white chocolate infused with granola, it’s sweet and creamy with a delightful crunch. And the best bit? Once you have devoured the main egg, underneath you’ll find six more strawberry and cream mini eggs to enjoy.

Tesco Free From Caramel Crunch Choc Egg With Sea Salt, £4.95

At less than a fiver for 180g, you get a decent amount of choc for your cash with this egg, which has been greeted free from allergens gluten, wheat and milk for a stress-free snack experience. What remains however, is the taste – creamy, caramelly chocolate, elevated with a smattering of sea salt.

Waitrose No.1 Milk Chocolate Flat Easter Egg, £12

Flat eggs are a lovely trend, and this one provides luxe in spades. It’s milk chocolate, with crunchy feuilletine (a crispy caramelised confection) and fleur de sel, finished with chocolate flakes and edible gold. 190g of pure delight.

OMV! Hoppily Vegan Cherry Bakewell Easter Egg, £4.90

Endorsed by both The Vegan Society and The Rainforest Alliance, this plant-based egg is created with creamy rice milk and contains biscuit and freeze-dried cherry pieces, alongside a bakewell flavour. It comes in at just under a fiver too – a bargain.
